Thanks to everyone who came along to raise money for Orchid on the London to Hastings bike ride on Sunday. It was a bit chilly, but the sun was shining and a good day was had by all!

Back for the third time, this challenging 70 mile ride starts from Crystal Palace and finishes in the historic south coast town of Hastings. Taking you through the 'Garden of England' the route leads over the North Downs and the High Weald before dipping down to finish by the sea.

MINIMUM AGE 14YRS. All riders under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Road bike / hybrid / mountain bike suitable.
Transport - coaches will leave at 6am to take riders and their bikes from Grosvenor Gardens to the Start at Crystal Palace. Coaches will run at set times in the afternoon (approx 3.00pm and 5.00pm) to take cyclists and their bikes back to the Start ONLY. Afternoon coach places have now sold out - return trains run regularly from Hastings to London Example times here. Please check train operator for carriage of bikes.
Advance booking recommended as spaces cannot be guaranteed on the day. NB - TRANSPORT TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
All riders are required to wear a helmet. A selection of helmets will be available for purchase on the day.
** We recommend that all riders have both bike and personal liability insurances as we cannot be held responsible for damage, loss or theft of your bike or personal items or personal liability.**

Ride Gradings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).

Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).

For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).

These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).
