Route Challenge ratings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).


Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).


For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).


These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).

THIS IS A SPONSORED CHARITY RIDE. Your entry fee only covers the costs of running the ride so please ask family and friends to sponsor you generously to make a real difference. THANK YOU.

Thanks to everyone who came along to raise money for Against Breast Cancer on the Classic Oxfordshire and GR8 Escape bike ride on Sunday. The weather was nice, the turnout was brilliant and a good day was had by all!

Come and join us on this popular bike ride, cycling through pretty villages and lush Spring countryside alongside the River Thames as it winds from south Oxfordshire up to Abingdon and into the Vale of the White Horse. Offering a choice of 30, 60 and 70 mile routes through a landscape of beautiful half-timbered cottages, green riverbanks and colourful marketplaces, it’s a great start to the cycling season.

Getting There: CarFrom M4 Jc 13 follow A34 north then take A4185 (Newbury Rd.) toward Rowstock and look for our signs.
Harwell is approximately 16 miles south of Oxford.

Other InfoMinimum age 12 on 30 mile route, 14 on the 60 mile and 16 on the 70 mile route. Riders under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult over 18. Road bike / hybrid / mountain bike suitable on both routes.

All riders are required to wear a helmet. A selection of helmets will be available for purchase on the day.

Against Breast Cancer funds unique research into breast cancer. With 136 women and 1 man diagnosed with breast cancer every day in the UK, your contribution towards Against Breast Cancer’s research is more important than ever. Our research looks at diet and lifestyle, biochemistry and immunology, with the aim of finding vital information to increase survival after diagnosis and ultimately to discover a vaccine against breast cancer.
