Akshaya Patra Foundation UK logo

Food for Education: Because no child should be deprived of education because of hunger.
1 in 3 of the world’s malnourished children live in India. For families living in extreme poverty, sending a child to school is not a priority when you don’t have enough food.

It costs just £10 to feed a child school meals for an entire year, encouraging them to attend school and providing the energy needed to concentrate on their studies. With the benefit of an education, they can lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Akshaya Patra feed 1.3 million underprivileged children every day. For many, this is the only meal they will eat that day. With your support in the Essex County Cycle, we can feed even more.
