The Peruvian town is set in stunning mountains and overlooked by the snow-capped El Misti Volcano. As we cycle from Arequipa to Cusco you will enjoy close encounters with wildllife, buslilng colourful market towns, and challenging cycling. On the Peru cycle tours you will experience a dramatic descent of 2100m, mountain biking down El Misti, a breathtaking cycle ride along the Colca Canyon reputedly the deepest in the world, unforgettable scenery and glimpses of a way of life that has barely changed in the last 500 years. You will enjoy thermal hot springs and visit the famous lost city of the Inca's - Machu Picchu, the dramatic salt plains of Salinas, and the fascinating town of Cusco. Our Peru bicycle holiday in May includes 4 day trek of the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Despite being a hugely popular tourist attraction, the Inca Trail is still one of the highlights of any South American tour. The optional third week provides an opportunity to cycle right off the beaten track to the high Andes and witness the lifestyle of Peru's indigenous people, which has remained the same for centuries.
