Route Challenge ratings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).


Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).


For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).


These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).

Join us on this great new ride for 2013!

Starting from the exciting regenerated Cardiff Bay, the ride crosses the impressive barrage heading west into the
Vale of Glamorgan then tracks the coast to beautiful Ogmore-by-Sea. Returning along lush green lanes through the sleepy villages of Ewenny and Gwern-y-Steeple, the route joins the Taff Trail to finish in Bute Park in the heart of the Welsh capital.

Getting There: CarDriving from M4, take jc.32 and follow A470 to central Cardiff and then signs for Cardiff Bay.
From the East: exit M4 jc. 28 and follow A48 towards Cardiff East then signs to Cardiff Bay.
