Starting and finishing in Sophia Gardens in the heart of Cardiff (close to the SWALEC Stadium) the ride heads west into the Vale of Glamorgan. Both routes pass through Gwern-Y-Steeple with the 60 mile route continuing in a loop through through Cowbridge, Southerndown and Llantwit Major, while the 30 mile splits off west of Gwern-Y-Steeple to meet the returning 60 mile route near Llancarfan. All riders then head east through Wenvoe to cross the Cardiff Bay Barrage, finishing back at Sophia Gardens.

Minimum age is 14 years on 30 mile route, 16 years on 60 mile route.
Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Road bike / hybrid / mountain bike suitable.

All riders are required to wear a helmet. A selection of helmets will be available for purchase on the day.

** We recommend that all riders have both bike and personal liability insurances as we cannot be held responsible for damage, loss or theft of your bike or personal items or personal liability.**

Ride Gradings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).

Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).

For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).

These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).

Getting here by car

From M5/M50 Southbound, take the M4 westbound exit at junction 29.
From West Wales: Take the M4 Eastbound and exit junction 33
Pay and Display Car Park adjacent to Start. 8 to 12 hrs: £8.00

Getting here by train

Cardiff Central station is less than 1 mile from the start.
